Is Chemistry the odd one out?

In case you missed our previous post about this year (2019) being the 150th anniversary of the discovery, or invention, of the Periodic Table of the elements, here's another post to commemorate one of the most important scientific breakthroughs in human history.

"Chemistry has a bad reputation among non-chemists, perhaps because it is the first place in science where a schoolchild comes up against the stubborn complexity of nature. The organising principles of physics appear simple; evolution makes biology appear a well-ordered process, at least until it’s examined in detail. But chemistry is awkward and lumpy. "

We have all encountered comments and questions from students regarding their learning in Chemistry. They sometimes go "So many things to memorise, why does the Periodic Table have eight columns, why not seven or nine?....." and the list goes on.

Are we giving enough credit to the discoveries made in Chemistry - the very ones that were built upon by the rest?

Hop over to this site to find out more about the interplay of the three sciences!
