Agriculture has been blamed for its contribution to greenhouse gas emission, especially with respect to the release of methane. In addition, use of machines such as tractors emit lots of carbon dioxide into the environment.

In the UK, experts are now exploring the use of battery-operated machines to curtail tractor use as well as drones to do field surveillance. From the drone data collected, farmers are cognizant of which areas on their expansive field should they apply fertilisers to. Artificial intelligence (A.I.) is also cleverly utilised to sow seeds as well as deliver the right amount of pesticide or fertiliser.
